Rose Ghostly

Rose was inspired to create Beach Day because of

… a lack of critical thinking and conversation around Israel / Palestine. Seeing a lot of bad faith takes, and not listening. Thought maybe some cute little guys could help bring some empathy to the table, to make a little more room to consider the whole situation, and to make talking about it feel more productive and possible …

About the artist

Rose Ghostly

Rose Ghostly is a Philadelphia-based (ex-Canadian) ink witch and crafter, doodling stories about friendship, monsters, and queer anarchist survival via magical realism & punk aesthetics.

Her work, born from a decade of DIY zine-making, explores the transformative power of being weird together and finding your fellow freaks in a hostile world. A 2024 Puffin Foundation grant recipient and founder of Worm’s Emporium (Best of Philly 2023), her work appears in libraries and radical distros across North America.

Whether organizing anti-fascist queer goth nights or creating posters for local grassroot orgs- she uses art as a tool for change.
