What's this space?
This is our Resistance Is Futile sub-site landing page. We want to give you a flavour of what the site is all about, the art and writing we're looking for, and the kind of content we'll be adding.
It'll more than just our third issue. This is something we'll be adding to, over time, to build a community of writers, creators, other sympathic groups and zines, readers and contributors - to support each other and manifesting change.
What's it all about?
As always, we have our own style, our stamp on things. So the work we are looking for will still be slightly left of centre, off-kilter (or ‘weird but stylish’ as someone described it). We are creatures of joy - we believe in the carrot more than the stick, we believe you can subvert expectations to make people pay attention with climate justice comedy, othering revenge horror, capitalist body horror or last of the species romance.
We aren’t looking for polemic essays or anyone on their eco-Karen high horse. Not because the world isn’t filled to the gunnels with things to get angry about, but because it’s also filled with places to publish your binary choice, your right/ wrong, black/white, us/them commentary. There’s an algorithm for that.
We want to find a way to bring people together, draw in everyone and make them feel included in the journey.

Flash Fiction!
50 words to 1,000 words, stand alone stories prompted by an aspect of resistance writing:
there will be examples, interviews, toolkits and blogs all exploring what this could mean.
What it ends up meaning to you may look different - as long as you can sum that up - it's ok.
We'll feature a selection of pieces on the website...but we're also putting together an anthology and there will be many more pieces in there.

Community in Action
Alone we can all make a little difference. Together? Who knows what we're capable of achieving? This 'issue' (it's more than that) we really want readers engaging, help us make a LOT of noise.
We're hoping that something you see, hear or read will inspire you, act as a call to arms (or pens, or litter-pickers or placards - choose your weapon). So we'll be exploring, with our contributors places you can go, volunteer, donate your time, money, voice to make a difference.

We'll be reaching out to get other people's views, tips and examples of resistance writing and art. We'd like to get definitions of resistance from readers and creatives. And who knows what else we'll come up with (or YOU will come up with)
